Robert Niven was born in Kelty, Fife. He initially served during the Great War with the Fife & Forfar Yeomanry, before transferring to the 1st Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers. Private Niven was killed in action, 23 April 1917, and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
John Wood was born in Coldingham, Berwickshire. He served during the Great War with the 10/11th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry on the Western Front. Private Wood was killed in action, 9 April 1918, and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium.
