Three: Private W. B. Dixon, Northumberland Fusiliers, who died of wounds at Gallipoli, 19 August 1915

William Beattie Dixon, a native of Blyth, Northumberland, attested for the Northumberland Fusiliers, and served during the Great War with the 8th Battalion in Gallipoli from 10 July 1915. He died of wounds on 19 August 1915, and having no known grave is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey. He is additionally commemorated on the War Memorial at Cambois Parish Church, Blyth.

Sold with a Northumberland Fusiliers silver brooch, in the form of the Regimental logo superimposed upon a silver rifle; and photographs of the recipient’s name on the Cambois War Memorial.
