The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) Officer’s Full Dress Shako and Named Carrying Tin c. 1891-1914, a fine quality example, the body of rifle green cloth with thistle pattern black braiding, sewn in cap lines and plaited festoons, blackened metal thistle side ornaments and similar large strung bugle horn frontal badge, above this a black corded boss bearing a blackened metal mullet, plume and plume holder of regulation pattern, patent leather chin strap, buff leather sweat band and crimson silk quilted lining, supplied by ‘J. Jones & Co., Regent St., London’, together with plaited black cord body lines and olivettes; together with the plume holder metal case, japanned metal carrying tin by Hawkes & Co., Piccadilly, London and with named plaque ‘E. S. Girdwood, Esq., The Cameronians’, some crazing to the patent leather front peak otherwise in very good overall condition (3) £400-600
