Lieutenant of Euphrates during Egyptian war of 1882 (Egyptian Medal, Khedive’s Bronze Star); Lieutenant of Bacchante and served with the Naval Brigade landed with the Army during the Burma Annexation war of 1885-87 (India Medal, Burma 1885-7 clasp).
