Joseph Seaford attested for the 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade at Bristol in June 1854. He advanced to Corporal in December 1854, and served with the Battalion during the Crimean campaign (entitled to Medal with ‘Sebastopol’ clasp). Having advanced to Sergeant, Seaford served with the Battalion during the Indian Mutiny and he died in camp near Lucknow, 19 April 1858.
