57 medals issued to the 10th Foot, all with clasp for Egypt.

John Shipley was born in the Parish of Wells, Derbyshire, and enlisted into the 10th Foot at Lincoln on 7 March 1799, aged twenty, a cutler by trade, for unlimited service. He served in the East Indies, including the campaign in Egypt, from 5 December 1800 to 4 May 1801. He was discharged at Woolwich on 13 May 1822, in consequence of ‘chronic rheumatism since employed in Spain during 1812 & 1813.’ Sold with copied discharge papers.
