Andrew C. Stewart was born in Crief, Perthshire. He served during the Great War with the 1/6th (Perthshire) Battalion, Royal Highlanders in the French theatre of war from 2 May 1915. Stewart was killed in action, 21 March 1918, and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
