A. J. Braidwood served as a Sergeant with Ashburner’s Light Horse during the Boer War. The force was employed chiefly in the Warrenton-Vryburg-Kuruman district, and in the south-west of the Transvaal during the last sixteen months of the war, and saw much hard work and a lot of fighting.

Approximately 126 medals to the unit.
