2nd Cheshire Rifle Volunteers (Chester) Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1880-1902, a scarce and fine quality example, the skull complete with all silver plated fittings, the frontal plate of crowned eight pointed star pattern with laurel overlays enclosing a strap ‘2nd Cheshire Rifle Volunteers’, in the centre the Prince of Wales’s badge and motto, buff leather sweatband with attached scarlet silk lining, the sweatband marked in black ink ‘G.W.H.’, the plate is original to the helmet, very good condition £400-500
