Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Tel-El-Kebir (1217 Piper, A. Ross, 1/Scots Gds.) edge bruising and pitting from star, unit rather weak, good fine £300-360

Angus Ross was born at Kilmuir, Borniskitach, near Portree, Inverness (Isle of Skye), and enlisted into the Scots Fusilier Guards at Tain on 2 October 1863. He was appointed Piper on 8 June 1865; served in the Egyptian campaign of 1882 and at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir. He transferred to the 3rd Battalion, Royal Scots Regiment on 15 October 1884, and was discharged on 23 May 1890. Sold with copied service papers.
