Sutlej 1845-46, for Sobraon 1846, no clasp (Lieut. W: H: Emerson 10th Regt.) fitted with replacement suspension rod, light contact marks and edge bruising, otherwise very fine

William Henry Emerson was appointed Ensign, by purchase, in the 10th Foot on 2 April 1842, and became Lieutenant on 31 March 1843, again by purchase. He served the campaign of 1845-46 with the Army of the Sutlej and was present at the battle of Sobraon on 10 February 1846, and the occupation of Lahore (Medal). He exchanged into the 39th Foot on 16 February 1847, and into the Cape Mounted Rifles on 17 December 1847. On 5 May 1848 he exchanged into the 63rd Foot and retired sometime in 1853.
