71st Highland Light Infantry Officer’s Hall Marked Silver Plaid Brooch, a very fine example hall marked Birmingham 1886 by J & Co., the quoit with engraved outer rim, the inner then mounted with a circle of thistle sprays, these embellished with battle honours from Mysore to Egypt 1882 and Tel El Kebir, mounted in the centre in silver and gilt is the Star of the Order of the Thistle bearing a coiled bugle horn with HLI monogram, an Imperial crown, the honour Assaye over the Elephant, the reverse is engraved ‘C.T.Martin Esqr., 71st H.L.I.’, stout pin fastener, very fine condition £500-700
