Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (H. Wallace. Carps. Crew: H.M.S. “Achilles”.) light pitting from star, nearly very fine £70-90

Harry Wallace was born in Stoke Damerel, Devonshire, on 10 December 1861, and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 9 April 1877. Promoted to Carpenter’s Crew in H.M.S. Impregnable on 10 December 1879, he joined H.M.S. Achilles in the same rate on 1 September 1880, and served with them during operations on and off the coast of Egypt in 1882. He was advanced to Shipwright on 22 November 1889, and was shore pensioned on 6 May 1896.
