Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Lucknow (T. Lucas, 42nd Rl. Highlanders) suspension re-fixed, brooch marks to obverse, good fine £200-260

Thomas Lucas was born at Sorn, Ayrshire, and was attested for the 42nd Foot at Kilmarnock on 6 May 1839. He was discharged at Stirling Castle on 20 August 1860, having served 21 years 68 days, including service abroad at ‘Corfu & Malta, 6 years 2 months; Bermuda, 4 years 2 months; Nova Scotia, 1 year; Turkey & Crimea, 2 years 3 months; Bengal East Indies, 2 years.’ He was three times tried by Court Martial and imprisoned on each occasion. Sold with copied discharge papers.
