William Galloway was the son of his namesake, and was born in Dundee, Forfarshire, in September 1895. He served during the Great War with the Royal Highlanders in the French theatre of war from 21 August 1915. Galloway was taken prisoner of war, and died of wounds, whilst serving with the 4/5th Battalion, 10 August 1918. He is buried in Niederzwerhren Cemetery, Germany.

John Galloway was the younger brother of the above, and was also born in Dundee, in October 1896. He served during the Great War with 5th Battalion, Royal Highlanders in the French theatre of war from 10 December 1915. He was killed in action, when serving with the 4/5th Battalion, 14 October 1916. On the latter date the Battalion were heavily engaged in an attack on the Schwaben Redoubt, Somme, ‘’B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ Companies advanced at 2.46 pm with ‘A’ in close support - heavy casualties from British barrage among leading waves - objectives taken and held. Regimental history notes just 30 men of assaulting companies relieved shortly after 10.50 pm. Enemy counter attacks driven off.’ (British Battalions on the Somme, R. Westlake refers).

Private Galloway is buried in the Connaught Cemetery, Thiepval, France.
