1914 Star, with copy clasp (4263 Pte. S. Verrall. 5/D. Gds.); British War and Victory Medals (4863 Pte. S. Verrall. 5-D. Gds.) nearly extremely fine (3) £100-140

Samuel Verrall was born in Bromley, Kent, in 1891, and attested for the 5th Dragoon Guards at Woolwich on 8 February 1910. He served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 15 August 1914, before transferring to the Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry) on 27 June 1916. He transferred to the Army Reserve on 30 April 1919, and was discharged on 7 February 1922, after 12 years’ ‘exemplary’ service.

Sold together with the recipients’ shoulder title; miniature width riband bar; Protection Certificate and Certificate of Identity; and Record Office enclosure for the 1914 Star.
