Charles I (1625-1649), Tower mint, Pattern Shilling, Gp D/E, by an unknown artist, in silver, mm. portcullis, crowned bust left in collar and armour, both arches of crown unjewelled, rev. oval scroll-garnished shield between c r, no inner circles, comma stops over partly-erased rosettes, 5.66g/12h (Sharp D5/E1; SCBI Brooker –; N 2698). Of fine workmanship, full and round, good fine and extremely rare £800-1,000
