A diamond set Regimental brooch for the Aden Protectors Levies, (APL) comprising crossed jambiyah (traditional curved double-edged daggers), beneath a crown and lion surmount, set throughout with rose-cut diamonds, the blade tips inset with rubies (untested for natural or synthetic origin), yellow and white precious metal mounted, reverse stamped ‘Pt 15ct’, length 3cm. £200-300

The Aden Protectorate Levies (APL), active between 1928 - 1967, were an Arab military force raised for the local defence of the Aden Protectorate under British rule, primarily to protect the Royal Air Force stations following the change of status of Aden to an Air Command in April 1927.
