Geoffrey Wilmshurst was commissioned Air Lieutenant in the Rhodesian Air Force on 27 October 1972, and served with the South African Defence Forces from 1976.

Sold together with the Commission appointing Geoffrey Wilmshurst an Air Lieutenant in the Defence Forces of Rhodesia, dated 27 October 1972, and signed ‘Clifford Dupont’; Bestowal Document for the South African Defence Force Good Service Medal, dated 24 October 1986; copy of a Confidential Statement given by the recipient; and four South African name badges.
