Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Belmont, Modder River, Orange Free State (5618. Pte. J. Kent, Gren: Gds:) edge bruise, good very fine £120-160

James Kent was born in Calne, Wiltshire, and attested for the Grenadier Guards at Bristol on 18 December 1895. He served with the 3rd Battalion in South Africa during the Boer War, and was additionally entitled to a King’s South Africa Medal with two clasps. He was discharged on 17 December 1907, after 12 years’ service, and subsequently emigrated to Canada.
