John Duckenfield Pearce, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, was commissioned into the Royal Regiment of Canada, and served with the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps during the Second World War. He was killed in action during the Dieppe Raid, Operation Jubilee, on 19 August 1942, and is buried in Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery, France.
