3rd Foot Guards Royal Commissions to William Douglas Celphane Maclean 1780 & 1792, the first appoints Maclean to be a Lieutenant in the regiment dated 13th December 1780, signed by George III and the Earl of Hillsborough; the second appoints him to be a Captain in the regiment dated 16th May 1792, signed by George III and Henry Dundas as Home Secretary, both with good clear signatures, wafers and seals and now superbly mounted and displayed in a glazed wooden frame, very good condition £600-800

Note: W.D.C.Maclean remained with the 3rd Foot Guards and on 1st January 1801 was appointed Major-General.
