Prince Albert’s Own Corps of Norfolk Yeomanry Cavalry Officer’s Helmet c. 1840-46, a fine quality example, the black japanned metal skull with similar comb complete with all gilt metal mounts and trimmings, the frontal plate features the pre-1837 Royal Arms with title band below ‘Prince Albert’s Own’, lions mask side ornaments and ornate velvet lined chin scales terminating in lions paws, the comb with white horse hair falling plume, the peaks lined with green skiver (front) and crimson skiver (rear), sweat band of sewn buff coloured linen with additional quilted silk ribbon, very good overall condition £2000-3000
