Charles William Baker served during the Second World War with the Royal Corps of Signals, and subsequently with the General Post Office, rising to the post of Inspector, London Telecommunications Region. He was awarded his Imperial Service Medal on 30 September 1969 (London Gazette 23 March 1987), and received the Medal of the Order of the Lion of Malawi in April 1985 on the occasion of the State Visit of His Excellency the Life President of Malawi to the United Kingdom.
Sold together with the Bestowal Document for the Medal of the Order of the Lion of Malawi, dated 22 March 1985, in named envelope; and Windsor Castle accompanying letter, dated 12 April 1985.
