M.S.M. London Gazette 3 June 1918:
‘In recognition of valuable services rendered with the Forces in Egypt.’

Robert Grahame Bruce was born in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, in 1889, and attested for the Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) at Dundee on 7 August 1907, having previously served in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Black Watch. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion in the Egyptian theatre of War from 1 November 1914. Transferring to the Indian Unattached List, he was awarded the Indian Army Meritorious Service Medal for devotion in Egypt. He transferred to Class ‘Z’ reserve on 2 October 1919.
