Edward Duffy attested for the Liverpool Regiment in Manchester, and served during the Great War with the 13th Battalion on the Western Front from 26 September 1915. Advanced to Sergeant, he briefly transferred to the 4th Battalion before returning to 13th Battalion Liverpool Regiment.
