The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Officer’s Green Cloth Helmet c. 1908-14, a very scarce example, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black velvet a silver strung bugle horn, below an ornate five part conjoined silver scroll ‘The Oxfordshire And Buckinghamshire Lt. Infy.’, buff leather sweatband and white quilted lining, the lining is glued down but the plate appears to be original to the helmet, together with a metal carrying tin by ‘Cater & Co., London’ with brass plaque ‘J.W.H.P, A.O.D’, oxidising to two of the star point finials resulting gilt loss and some gilt loss to all other fittings otherwise good overall condition £500-600
