George Seamour was born in Shoreham, Sussex in 1865, and attested for the General Service Cavalry at Brighton on 12 April 1884. He served in the East Indies from September 1892 until March 1893; in Egypt from March 1893 until November 1894; and in South Africa with the 7th Dragoon Guards from November 1899 until December 1901. He was discharged on 5 November 1903, as medically unfit for further service.
