Charles Smallcomb Moon was born in Bristol, Gloucestershire, in 1870 and attested for the Rifle Brigade at Horfield on 8 March 1888. He served with the 2nd Battalion in South Africa, and was killed in action at Ladysmith on 23 February 1900.

Sold together with the recipient’s Small Book; War Office enclosure; and various newspaper cuttings.
