A 1946 A.F.M. group of four awarded to Flight Sergeant P. J. Pinnock, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, later Chief Inspector, Nottingham City Police

Air Force Medal, G.VI.R. (1580601. F/Sgt. P. J. Pinnock. R.A.F.); Defence and War Medals 1939-45; Police Long Service Medal, E.II.R., 2nd issue (Inspr. Percival J. Pinnock), mounted as originally worn, generally very fine or better (4) £1600-1800

A.F.M. London Gazette 1 January 1946:

‘Flight Sergeant Pinnock’s work has been consistently outstanding for the past 15 months. His duties as flying instructor have been carried out in a conscientious, cheerful and efficient manner and the high standard he has set has been an excellent example to other instructors in his flight.’

Percival James Pinnock served during the Second War as a Flight Sergeant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He served as an Instructor in Tiger Moths and Magisters at No. 7 Elementary Flying Training School, Desford, from the end of 1944. After the war he joined the Nottingham City Police, and advanced to the rank of Chief Inspector. An image of the recipient in uniform is held by the British Police online Museum.
