The Recommendation states: ‘On August 27th and 28th [1917] near Langemarck, this N.C.O. showed great pluck and determination in laying and maintaining telephone lines under heavy shell fire. Throughout the operations he displayed great energy, ability, and utter disregard for personal safety. He set a fine example to his men.’
Sold together with a newspaper cutting announcing the award of the recipient’s M.M., together with a photograph of the recipient; and Record Office enclosure for the recipient’s British War Medal.
