Early Anglo-Saxon Period, Mid 6th century, gilt-bronze square-headed brooch with Style 1 animal decoration, chip-carved and set with a single circular garnet, length 145mm, 80mm at widest, 68.4g. Good condition and almost complete, richly detailed with gilding 90% intact but deliberately (ritually?) broken into eight pieces before burial £300-400
