The King’s Own Scottish Borderers Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1887-1901, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the very fine frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel overlays thereon in silver the badge as worn on the officer’s glengarry. Buff leather sweat band with silk lining attached but partly perished and retailer’s details for Hawkes of London. he plate not original to the helmet and all other gilt areas mostly devoid of gilt, one minute moth hole, the skull otherwise in very good condition £500-600
