6th West York Militia a Colonel’s 1869 Pattern Shako, the blue cloth body complete with silver plated fittings and three broad silver lace rank bands, the frontal plate is of 1855 crowned star pattern in silver plate, in the centre a circle ‘Sixth West York’ enclosing a silver rose on a domed ground, white over red ball plume with incorrect white metal plume holder, buff leather sweatband and original brown silk lining by ‘Caters of London’. Together with a shaped leather carrying box this most probably of German or French manufacture this with faults, very good condition (2) £400-600
