British Red Cross Society Commemorative War Cross 1914-17, a trial piece ?, gilt and enamel complete with enamelled suspension and brooch bars; British Red Cross Society War Commemorative Medal 1914-18 (2) (Mrs H. A. Mould, L/124; R. E. Humphrey, V.A.D., L/100) both privately named, the latter lacking integral top brooch bar; one in card box of issue; together with a dress miniature medal, unnamed, with brooch bar; British Red Cross Society Blood Transfusion Service Medal, bronze, reverse inscribed ‘Awarded to Lt. Col. J. McCaskill. for 10 Transfusions’, nearly very fine and better (5) £60-80

The first item is presumed to be a trial striking for the B.R.C.S. ‘War Medal’ for the Great War, which was presumably too expensive for general distribution.
