John Corrigan was born in 1870 in Fairview, Dublin, and attested for the Royal Irish Fusiliers on 24 October 1898, stating that he was currently serving in the 3rd Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He suffered a severe injury to the head (scalp) on 18 February 1900 in Colchester prior to serving in South Africa with the 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers. He died of disease at Kroonstad, 16 December 1900, and is commemorated on the Royal Irish Fusiliers Monument, The Mall, Armagh.
