William John Garner was born in 1886, in Delamere, Cheshire, and attested for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps in May 1904. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 13 August 1914, and was reported missing, presumed killed in action, on 30 November 1914. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
