Forgotten Heroes - The Charge of the Heavy Brigade, by Roy Dutton, records this man as a ‘probable’ charger.

The musters show he was effective from 1 October to 31 December 1854. He received his medal from the hand of the Queen on 18 May 1855, and was discharged on 21 August 1866. A Sergeant R. Hunter of this regiment attended a Crimean War and Indian Mutiny Veterans parade in honour of the Queen in Edinburgh in May 1903. An officially impressed medal named to this man was offered by Liverpool Medals in September 1986.
