The mounted group of four miniature dress medals worn by Captain A. L. Campbell, Royal Scots

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, M.B.E. (Military) Member’s 2nd type badge, silver; Korea 1950-53, 1st issue; U.N. Korea 1950-54; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Malaya, E.II.R., mounted as worn, nearly extremely fine (4) £60-80

M.B.E. London Gazette 30 December 1960:
‘In recognition of distinguished service in Malaya for the period 1st January to 31st July, 1960’.


Angus Leslie Campbell, the son of Brigadier-General L. W. Y. Campbell, was educated at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. Commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Scots on 22 July 1950, he was promoted Lieutenant on 22 July 1952; Appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services in Malaya, whilst seconded to the Army of the Federation of Malaya, he retired on 30 March 1961.

Sold together with the recipient’s Commission Document appointing him a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Scots, dated 15 September 1950.
