George Waldron was awarded the Royal Society for the Protection of Life from Fire silver medal, together with a gratuity of £1, for his gallantry in saving life on 12 September 1852: ‘By his courage and promptitude he was instrumental in saving the lives of two children to escape the fire in 15 Middlesex Street, Somers Town.’ (Case no. 1853 refers).
