E. G. Colley was awarded his Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 28 December 1944.

Alfred Leslie Woodley was born in Clutton, Somerset, in 1910 and was awarded his Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 30 July 1943. He served during the Second World War in H.M.S. Hurricane, and was one of three of Hurricane’s crew killed in action when she was torpedoed by U-415 on Christmas Eve 1943 whilst on convoy escort duty in the North Atlantic. He is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial.
