Joseph Bona was born in Otley, Yorkshire, and attested there for the West Riding Regiment. He served as Company Sergeant Major with the 10th Battalion during the Great War, and was killed in action on the Western Front on 18 October 1917. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.

Arnold Atkin was born in Halifax, Yorkshire, and attested there for the West Riding Regiment. He served with the 1st/4th Battalion during the Great War, and was killed in action at Erquinghem, Lys, France, on 10 April 1918, on which date Private Arthur Poulter, of the same Battalion, was awarded the Victoria Cross for on 10 occasions carrying back wounded men on his back through particularly heavy artillery and machine gun fire, and tending to the wounds of over 40 men of the battalion whilst under fire. Atkin has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.

Cecil Stephen Hawkins was born at West Hartlepool and served with both the Durham Light Infantry and the 2nd/7th Battalion, West Riding Regiment during the Great War. He died of wounds on the Western Front on 2 December 1917, and is buried in Red Cross Corner Cemetery, Beugny, France.
