Provenance: Buckland Dix & Wood 6 May 1992; Dix Noonan Webb 2 July 2003.

Earl Kitchener’s group of campaign medals, on display at the Royal Engineers Museum, Chatham, are all official replacements for those lost at sea in 1916, together with replacement Great War medals, and are all marked as such. Various of his original issue Great War medals and bronze memorial plaque, deemed superfluous in the light of his replacement set, have appeared on the market over the years.
