Military General Service 1793-1814, 4 clasps, Egypt, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria (J. Godly, Corpl. R. Arty.) minor edge nicks, good very fine £1000-1400

John Godly was born in Southampton, Hampshire, and attested for the 44th Foot, in 1796. He served with the Regiment at Egypt in 1801, and transferred to the Royal Artillery Drivers in 1803. He served with ‘L’ Troop, prior to his transfer to ‘H’ Troop in November 1813. He was discharged in May 1816, having served 20 years and 70 days.
