1st Newcastle-on-Tyne Engineers Officer’s Waist Belt Plate c. 1860-1901, an extremely rare example, the rectangular silver plated back plate with cast silver mount, this comprises crowned laurel sprays, a circular strap ‘1st Newcastle-on-Tyne Engineers’ enclosing the three castle turrets and the arms of the city, at the base of the laurels a shield bearing a script ‘V’, complete with separate D ring fastener, very good condition £160-220
