Three: Captain F. K. Taylor, Royal Navy

Frederick K. Taylor was born on 25 February 1840, and entered the Royal Navy as a Master’s Assistant on 11 October 1855. Advanced to Navigating Lieutenant on 2 November 1867, he transferred to H.M.S. Rattlesnake on 17 October 1870, and served in her during the Ashantee campaign. Promoted Staff Commander on 22 October 1878, he transferred to H.M.S. Agincourt on 12 August 1882, and served in her during operations on and off the coast of Egypt in 1882. He retired at his own request with the rank of Captain on 14 September 1894. Admitted as an In-Pensioner at Greenwich Hospital on 17 June 1911, he died on 6 January 1933.
