Three: Battery Quarter Master Sergeant G. Chambers, Royal Artillery, wounded during the final attack on the Redan, 8 September 1855

Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Corpl. G. Chambers. 8th Batn. Rl. Arty.) officially impressed naming, clasp loose on riband as issued, with solder repair to left-hand side of clasp facing; Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (Batty. Qr. Master Sergt. G. Chambers 9th Bde. R A); Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue (Corpl. G. Chambers 6th Compy. 8th Bn. R.A.) contemporarily engraved naming, plugged with ring suspension, last two with contemporary silver T. B. Bailey, Coventry foliate top riband bars, both lacking retaining pins, edge details worn in places, 1st good fine, others nearly very fine (3) £300-340

George Chambers was born in Newark, Nottinghamshire, and attested for the Royal Artillery at Lincoln, in December 1852. He advanced to Bombardier in October 1855, and Sergeant in July 1859. He served during the Crimean War and was wounded during the the Final Attack on the Redan, 8 September 1855 (London Gazette 25 September 1855).

Chambers served as Battery Quarter Master Sergeant from February 1869, and was discharged 25 May 1874, having served 21 years and 124 days.
