James V (1513-1542), Ducat or Bonnet piece, 1540, mm. St Andrew’s cross on obv., plain cross on rev., triple pellet stops after honor, 5.48g/12h (B 4; SCBI 35, 905, same dies; S 5373). Gilt and has been removed from a mount, otherwise fine, very rare (£800-1,000)
