Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902 (2), no clasp (6533 Pte. W. G. Hutchins. Oxford: L.I.; 711 Pte. W. R. Cochrane. Frontier Lt. Horse) edge bruise to first, good very fine (2) £80-100

Walter Hutchins was born in 1880 in Culham, Berkshire (now Oxfordshire), and attested for the 4th (Militia) Battalion, Oxfordshire Light Infantry on 7 January 1899. He served with the 1st Battalion in South Africa, and died of disease at Kroonstad on 28 May 1902 (entitled to Cape Colony, Orange Free State, and South Africa 1902 clasps).

William Reginald Cochrane
was born in 1883 and was a farmer by profession. He attested for the District Mounted Volunteer Force on 19 February 1900, and served during the Boer War with the District Mounted Rifles and Frontier Light Horse (entitled to Cape Colony and Orange Free State clasps).
