G. Cooper served with the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment of Foot and was present during the expeditions under Brigadier-General Sir Colin Campbell on the North West Frontier, 11 March to 24 May 1852, where the expeditionary force was engaged against the Ranizai tribe in Turangai, Shakot, and Dargai; the Mohmand tribe at Panjpao; and the Utman Khel tribe at Nawadan and Prangarh.
